Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the USB2Air outside the USA?

Currently the USB2Air is included with USA power supplies. You can use powerr adapters if you would like. This device is FCC Certified for wireless use.

How far can the USB2Air extension go?

The recommended distance limitation is 12’ – 15’ for optimal performance with line of sight between the transceivers. Maximum distance for use is 25′ (5-7 meters).

Will the USB2Air work for Mac computers?

Currently the USB2Air is a Windows only device because of the software required for use.

Will the USB2Air work with Windows 10?

Yes, the USB2Air will work with Windows 7 and later. We have tested Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.

Will the USB2Air work with the Logitech PTZ Pro camera?

Yes, the USB2Air will reliably send video from any USB 2.0 video camera at resolutions up to 1080p.

What is the USB2Air Warranty?

Can this be used with a touch screen? Can it extend HDMI?

Yes, you can use a USB to HDMI device such as the Sabrent USB-HDMI to deliver 1080p video via HDMI. Along with this device you pass through touch screen control as well (<a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CS6MXV0jyw”>as shown here</a>).

How does your system work with USB sound cards? Is your system equally capable when transmitting from Host to Device USB connectors?

It will work equally as well for audio as it does for video… when used in the same way it will allow for a USB 2.0 sound card to be plugged in and transfer bidirectionally between the Windows PC and the USB Sound Card.

How well do two USB2Air sets operate in the same space? Will there be difficulties with conflicts?

Currently you will be able to operate up to a maximum of four pairs within the same room without issue.

At what frequency(ies?) do these devices operate? Will I have to worry about conflicts with Bluetooth, WiFi, etc?

The device can operate between 3.1 – 9 GHz to avoid interference with any with personal and local equipment.

Does the device automatically choose the operating frequencies? Or is that selected as part of set up, like picking channels?

It does automatically choose the operating frequency, though you can manually go in and change the channels if you choose.

Our Wireless USB Technology Development History

Wireless USB 2.0 vs USB 3.0

Lead engineer Matthew Davis released the HuddleCam Air in 2015 which provided a 1080p 30fps wireless USB 3.0 video signal up to 50 feet between the camera and the wireless receiver. The HuddleCam Air was well received and confirmed the demand for wireless USB video products in the ProAV and video conferencing market. Now in 2017, Davis is taking the same technology with some major improvements to market as a stand alone wireless USB 2.0 adapter. The USB2Air will feature the same low-latency video streaming with only 1 millisecond of added latency for a truly “latency free” wireless USB backbone. Davis designed a Point-to-Point (P2P) systems which supports 1 Host module and a 1 Device Module which can include a USB hub (usage limited by overall bandwidth). Up to 4 USB2Air devices can operate in a single room without interference because of wireless USB 2.0 channel hopping technology built-in to every unit.

Wireless USB 2.0 Video Adapter

While USB 3.0 and now USB 3.1 are becoming standards for super fast bandwidth speeds, USB 2.0 is still commonplace for millions of devices that are being manufactured today. The USB2Air supports high definition 1080p video products such as webcams and virtual reality headsets which also makes lower bandwidth products supported as well such as USB audio conferencing phones. The use cases for Wireless USB 2.0 are clearly wide open from video conferencing, telemedicine, virtual reality, immersive technology and professional technology integration. The USB2Air can support up to 30 MBps of bandwidth and therefore multiple 1080p USB devices. We suggest determining the USB 2.0 devices you plan to use and referring to the device manuals to calculate the required bandwidth.

What does the USB2AIR package include?

Our FCC Certified Wireless USB Link Technology adds only 1 ms latency which is ideal for real-time applications such as video conferencing, virtual reality gaming and visual collaboration. The USB2Air package includes a USB Host adapter (connects to PC), a USB “Device” adapter (connects to provided USB HUB), a 4-Port USB hub which provides power, a 5VDC 2A Power adapter and a 5VDC to USB Power cable. The Wireless USB2Air includes a 1 year warranty and support from HuddleCamHD dedicated team located outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
